Strategy

A high-pressure checkout. Hit T20, T17, D12 in sequence. Focus on the trebles first — if you miss, you may still leave yourself a workable finish. If your T20 lands in S20, you'll need 135 with 3 darts remaining. A miss sideways into the 5 or 1 segments changes the equation significantly. If your T17 lands in S17, you'll need 75 with 2 darts remaining. A miss sideways into the 2 or 3 segments changes the equation significantly. You'll encounter 135 frequently in competitive 501 and 301 play.

Alternative Routes

The standard route T20 → T17 → D12 is the most commonly used combination for 135.

Pro Tip

D12 sits between D9 and D5 on the board. A miss inside to S12 leaves you on 12 (D6), maintaining a double finish. The D12 area is relatively spacious, making it a comfortable finishing double.
