117
3-dart checkout
Strategy
A three-dart checkout requiring a treble. Aim for T20, S17, D20. The treble is the key dart — hitting it sets up a straightforward finish. If your T20 lands in S20, you'll need 117 with 3 darts remaining. A miss sideways into the 5 or 1 segments changes the equation significantly. You'll encounter 117 frequently in competitive 501 and 301 play.
Alternative Routes
The standard route T20 → S17 → D20 is the most commonly used combination for 117.
Pro Tip
D20 (tops) is the most practiced double, but missing inside to S20 leaves you on 20 (D10) — still a clean single-dart finish. Train this double by focusing on the very edge of the board.
