A two-dart checkout: T15, D20. Hit the treble first to set up the double. If your T15 lands in S15, you'll need 85 with 2 darts remaining. A miss sideways into the 10 or 2 segments changes the equation significantly. You'll encounter 85 frequently in competitive 501 and 301 play.
Alternative Routes
The standard route T15 → D20 is the most commonly used combination for 85.
Pro Tip
D20 (tops) is the most practiced double, but missing inside to S20 leaves you on 20 (D10) — still a clean single-dart finish. Train this double by focusing on the very edge of the board.
